Learn More About These IssuesOur Approach
Our process and productivity advantage means that transforming your concrete surfaces requires a relatively short time and is dust and hassle free for you.

Step 1: Area Preparation
The transformation begins with preparing the site, protecting the adjacent areas to work specifically on the targeted concrete surface to be stained.
Step 2: Damage Assessment and Repair
At this stage, any chips or crack damage or imperfections in the concrete are identified and repaired to ensure a smooth canvas for the transformation.
Step 3: Surface Cleaning
Our experts clean the surface thoroughly to remove any impurities, setting the stage for the staining process.
Step 4: Stain Application
The next step involves applying the chosen color stain across the surface, allowing the concrete to absorb the color stain and show its hidden character.
Step 5: Sealing
To lock-in the color stain and to resist any future staining the surface a penetrating sealer is applied. If the floor is to be polished the floor is then polished to the desired finish.
Step 6: Final Inspection
Our experts conduct a final inspection to ensure the transformation meets our high standards of quality and your expectations.
Step 7: Maintenance Services
To keep your surfaces looking new, we offer maintenance services to maintain your stained and polished surface and affect any repairs that might be needed in the future,
Step 8: Post-Service Care

Phone EmailWhat is the difference between a stain and a coating?
A coating tends to be opaque and to provide a consistent uniform color. The colored material sits ON TOP of the surface.
A stain introduces color into the concrete pores, its appearance will vary based on the absorption differences of the floor giving it character.
Why do people want to stain their concrete?
Concrete is naturally porous and gray in color. However, with the introduction of a colored stain we can color the concrete surface. This may be desirable to match the building décor.
Stains insert a colored pigment carrying liquid into the open pores within a surface. Unlike a coating, a stain’s appearance will vary based on the material’s ability to absorb. Concrete surfaces tend to have some movement created by the character and history of the concrete.
A stained concrete floor introduces color while maintaining the character of the concrete for a unique finish.
Water-based acid stains can provide a soft muted color, whereas acetone stains can impart a deep rich hue while maintaining the concrete’s variation and character.
With staining, one can see the details of the underlying concrete, unlike with a coating, which is opaque.
Isn't staining a bad thing?
Stain can be a bad thing when unintended and unevenly applied, but a beautifully artistic finish when intentionally applied with the desired color.
A black stain on a white floor is a “bad” stain, but a red colorized stain applied across the entire floor giving it a soft red hue is beautiful.
Will a concrete stain cover the imperfections on my floor now?
Unfortunately, no. Stain acceptance by the surface will depend on the surface’s ability to absorb.
This can differ greatly based on the history of the floor. A fresh clean new concrete will generally accept the stain evenly with some minor character swirls, however if someone has spilled oil or had glued down a carpet the concrete absorption could be affected by the oil (which would resist the stain) or the carpet glue which could have filled some of the concrete pores.
When this occurs, an overlayment can be applied to restore a fresh stain accepting concrete finish.
Imperfections can be hidden using an opaque coating, of which MARBLELIFE ENDURACRETE offers several types depending on what additional features you might want beyond color. Want a texture? Want non-flammable? Want a marble or granite appearance? All of these are possible and can deliver beautiful results.
Why should I get my concrete surface Color-Stained?
Personal taste or an interest in using a space differently.
Grey natural concrete tends to appear “unfinished” or industrial. A stained floor can have a soft pastel appearance of an acid stain or the deep rich colors of an acetone carried stain.
What is the difference between an acetone stain and an acid stain?
Acid stains are generally waterborne and provide a soft pastel color, whereas an acetone stain is solvent borne, flammable during application and generates deep rich colors.
What is the difference between polished concrete and a concrete coating?
Polishing refines the existing concrete surface. A coating adds a separate finish over a prepared surface. The condition of the slab, its use and your appearance goals help determine which service to consider.
Does a concrete finish replace crack repair or preparation?
No. The slab condition and required preparation should be reviewed before polishing, staining, sealing or coating. Discuss visible cracking and existing finishes with your team so the scope includes the appropriate preparation.
Do exterior surfaces need a different care plan?
Outdoor surfaces face weather and different exposure than interior surfaces. Discuss the material, drainage, existing finishes and the way the area is used so the appropriate exterior cleaning or restoration options can be assessed.
What information helps prepare a surface care estimate?
Share your ZIP code, surface material, where it is installed, the approximate area and the concern you see. Photos can help explain the problem. Your local team will confirm the appropriate assessment and scope before work is agreed.
How do I find the MARBLELIFE team for my property?
