Preparation is the first and most important step in applying our Epoxy Flooring system. We know the importance of installing our coatings over fully prepared concrete surfaces.
Because of this, we spend over two-thirds of our time preparing your concrete before we start coating it. With an adequately prepared concrete surface, our epoxy coatings will bond with your concrete to create a durable, long-lasting floor.
Step 1: Area Preparation
We initiate the process by carefully masking and isolating the work area to ensure a precise and controlled environment for the coating application.
Step 2: Damage Assessment and Repair
Any existing spaulling, chips, or cracks are addressed at this stage, laying the groundwork for a consistent coating application.
Step 3: Remove Previous Coatings
Any failing or peeling existing coatings are removed to assure strong bonding to the concrete substrate and solid installation.
Step 4: Surface Cleaning
Cleaning is done to remove any prior oil or grease spill residue which could interfere with coating bond later in the process. Degreasing prior to surface profiling ensures surface oils are removed prior to profiling avoids potential transfer of residue during the profiling process.
Step 5: Surface Profiling
The surface is then profiled to enhance surface area contact, increasing coatings mechanical bond.
Step 6: Moisture Mitigation
We conduct a moisture assessment to ascertain the potential need for a moisture vapor barrier. In high water table environments, around water bodies or in low level areas that can see high water tables during downpours a moisture vapor barrier may be recommended to improve coating longevity during high water table events.
Step 7: Base Coat Application
Base Color Coat is now applied setting the base background color for your custom designed pattern.
Step 8: Vinyl Chip Application
Broadcast vinyl chips to provide color and texture.
Step 9: Customized Topcoat Installed
To complete the process, we select and apply a topcoat that aligns with your specific surface's unique conditions and needs, be it indoor, outdoor, or garage-based – addressing hot tire and UV resistance requirements.
Step 10: Final Inspection
Our experts conduct a final inspection to ensure the transformation meets our high quality standards and your expectations.
Step 11: Maintenance Services

What color options do I have with ENDURACHIP?

How do I hide patches and cracks in my concrete so that I have a uniform appearance?
If you have had concrete cracks repaired, you are aware that the repair remains visible. Concrete polishing and concrete staining will still allow the crack repair to be seen unless one installs an overlayment first.
There are two ways to dress up your concrete floor and restore a clean, uniform, beautifully accented appearance.
COATINGS: The first is to consider a concrete coating such as MARBLELIFE-ENDURACRETE ENDURACHIP or Marblized coating. Both offer the ability to introduce color and convert your concrete floor into a showroom. These are popular choices for our clients who own classic cars or sports cars as well as those seeking a large open space for social gatherings.
OVERLAYMENT: If you want a polished concrete or stained-and-polished appearance, without seeing the cracks, or the history of prior spills, or cross hatch, you will need to install a thin overlayment, a micro-topping if you will.
This virgin material hides the prior concrete surface history and provides a clean stainable uniform and polishable surface. As such, there is always a way. If you are set on that stained-and-polished look or have had someone attempt this and how it accentuates the negative history on the floor we have a way to get you where you want to be.
The garage is the largest area other than the basement in many homes. Dressing up the garage can create an alternate entertainment area for the big game, a buffet, or the kids. Marry a closet makeover and this becomes a beautiful space.
What is the difference between polished concrete and a concrete coating?
Polishing refines the existing concrete surface. A coating adds a separate finish over a prepared surface. The condition of the slab, its use and your appearance goals help determine which service to consider.
Does a concrete finish replace crack repair or preparation?
No. The slab condition and required preparation should be reviewed before polishing, staining, sealing or coating. Discuss visible cracking and existing finishes with your team so the scope includes the appropriate preparation.
Do exterior surfaces need a different care plan?
Outdoor surfaces face weather and different exposure than interior surfaces. Discuss the material, drainage, existing finishes and the way the area is used so the appropriate exterior cleaning or restoration options can be assessed.
